How do I buy an Item?

1.  Register for Free on the site.
2.  Buyer sees an item they are interested in and contacts the seller.
3.  Communication between Buyer and Seller is exchanged through your Inbox on SwapMeSports.com and you're notified in your personal email.  
4.  Location of hand-off or viewing of item is mutually agreed upon. 
5.  Seller either accepts or negotiates on offer
6.  Sold!

How do I sell an item?

1.  Register for Free on the site.
2.  Hit the Sell link and you'll be walked through the listing process.
3.  Once submitted, it will take up to 24 hours for item to be approved.
4.  Item is listed.
5.  Buyer sees an item they are interested in and contacts the seller.
6.  Communication between Buyer and Seller is exchanged through your Inbox on SwapMeSports.com and you're notified in your personal email.
7.  Location of hand-off or viewing of item is mutually agreed upon. 
8.  Seller either accepts or negotiates on offer.
9.  Sold!

Is the website really free to use?

Yup. In an effort to encourage homes around the country to recycle their used and outgrown sports equipment, we wanted to provide a free online community where friends and neighbors could buy, sell, trade or donate their equipment with each other.  We know the cost of sports equipment is high, so why not recoup some money back by selling, save some money by buying or give back to the community by donating!

How does this website work?

SwapMeSports is an online community. We don't house any equipment. We simply serve as an online "bulletin board" for individuals like yourself to communicate with one another. We encourage you to clean out your basements and garages of used and outgrown or even new equipment and after registering on the site for free, to list your equipment and make some money back 

When listing, we'll ask you to fill in some information like what city you're listing your item from, what sports category you're listing in, how much you want to get for it, and other information (like size, condition, boy, girl, age).  You can even list your item on your Facebook wall if you're a member of Facebook.

If you're looking to buy an item, you simply search for whatever you're looking for whether it's by geography, sports category and/or gender.  If you're still having a hard time, please email us at info@swapmesports.com and we'll do what we can to help you.  And don't forget to tell your friends to check out our website!

Yes.  We encourage the listing of all sports equipment regardless of age, gender or condition of equipment.

How do I sell, buy or trade my sports equipment?

We tried to make this process as easy as possible. So if at any point you feel there could be an "easier" way we welcome your comments and we will review each and every one of them.

To buy, sell or trade a piece of equipment, after registering on the site, click the respective box to what you're trying to do on the home page.  After clicking on the box, you will be walked through a few short questions and form fields that will help you to list and upload photographs.

If you're looking to buy or trade, simply use the Find feature to search through the database of equipment listed by individuals just like yourself.

How do I donate my equipment?

Thank you for considering to donate your equipment. There are countless of kids around the country who find purchasing sports equipment, new or used as a hardship.  We intend to expand our donation program. However, currently, we are asking folks to list their item by location.  As we work with leagues and coaches around the country, we will make them aware they can search for donations by geographic location. In the near future, we will be putting a formal donation process in place to make it even easier to get your generous donations in the hands of those who need it.  If you still need more information, please contact us at info@swapmesports.com.

I have a complaint, who can I contact?

Well, we hope you'll never have a complaint, but from time to time we realize that can happen.  If you have a complaint about something you have bought, you need to contact the buyer directly.

What if I need to return something I've bought? 

We strongly encourage before buying that you ask the seller a lot of questions about the item you're interested in buying and inspect and try on items in person to make sure they are the right fit (if applicable) or that the item meets your expectations. 

If you buy something you don't end up liking or you have what people call "buyer's remorse,"  you can try contacting the person you bought it from or alternatively, try selling it back on this website. It's likely you'll break even or even make money doing this and save everyone including yourself a whole lot of hassle. 

Swap Me Sports is not responsible for any sale that is a result of items listed on the website.

How long does my listing stay active?

Your item will stay active as long as you need to sell it. If you sell your item, we ask you remove your items as quickly as possible.  If your item stays on the site longer than 30 days, we will remove the listing at our discretion to help keep the website current.

Are there really no listing, selling or shipping fees?

Yup.  The only time you'll encounter a shipping fee is when you find an item that is out of state that you want to buy or if you're too lazy to pick it up.  In either of those scenerios, the seller will need to be paid for shipping unless they are feeling super generous and they tell you that they will ship it for free.
